Evocative, Stoke-on-Trent trio DIVINE YOUTH released their debut single Please Pour Away Those Petrol Eyes in March 2016.

Divine Youth formed in early 2015 over a shared love of the hell raiser, the gang mentality, and were influenced greatly by The Manic Street Preachers.

The track begins slowly, but gradually builds, until a minute in, when the beat kicks in…working perfectly. The Cockeresque Dan Sheldon, with his distinctive, passionate vocals, sings with primitive emotion. The percussion dominates every element of the song, with the guitars complementing this brilliantly. If you’re a Pulp fan, you’re going to love this!

There are a number of gigs in the pipeline, including ones locally to Divine Youth (Stoke on Trent), and they are also playing Lymelight Festival on 30th April 2016.

Pour Away Those Petrol Eyes is a great first love for this band, and we have more to look forward to, for Divine Youth will have more material out later this year, which I cannot wait to hear!
