THE BLACK ROSES are an energetic indie-rock band from North London.

Influenced by the likes of The Libertines, Arctic Monkeys and The Stone Roses; the four-piece consists of members Anthony Stevenson (Lead Singer/Guitar), Mike Goodfellow (Drums),  Valentin Pean (Bass/ Backing vocals) and Richard Jones (Lead Guitar), the band formed in September 2015.

While the band haven’t officially released anything to date, they have put out two tracks on their Soundcloud. Most recent track, Bad Habits particularly highlights the influence from Arctic Monkeys and The Strokes; however it still has a distinctive edge to it.

The bands groovy  rhythms, catchy lyrics, and funky, yet filthy riffs; alongside the energy they seem to perform with, shows their potential and dedication. The bands first track; She Makes The Rain Dance has many elements of an indie-rock anthem, so if you’re into the indie sounds from the noughties, go and check these out!

The Black Roses have headlined venues such as Sebright Arms, 02 Academy2, and also played the main stage at Hogsoggle Fest; so they’re sure beginning to get their name out there! They’ll be back gigging again from October, and hope to release something later on this year. So make sure you follow their social media to be kept updated.
