Last month saw Bristol based band Chay Snowdon return with double-single Mon Cheri and Sha La La.
The four-piece consists of Liam Roberts (Lead guitar), George Roach (Bass), Ed Fox (Drums), and Chay Snowdon (Vocals and rhythm guitar).
Mon Cheri is a fast-paced tune, taking a heavier approach compared to previous tracks. Filled with groovy guitars and speedy percussion, the track is a sure moshpit banger, certain to get the crowd bouncing. It has an upbeat rhythm, and the vocals are delivered with a sense of swagger; giving off feel-good vibes and capturing just what the band are all about.
Sha La La slows down the mood; it implicates a need to just live in the moment and take on anything else tomorrow. This is a track I could imagine watching as the sun goes down at a festival, lighters out and arms around your mates. The track is a perfect conclusion of the release; taking a far more relaxed approach but delivering nonetheless.
The band have already made their mark on the independent music scene, having a sellout headline show in Bristol; supporting acts such as The Sherlocks, VANT and Oddity Road, and receiving praise from BBC Introducing Devon & Cornwall.
This is the lads’ most defining release to date, and I cannot wait to hear more from them throughout 2019.
The tracks are available now to stream on Spotify and Soundcloud.
